UPDATE: Set up as a a pitch at Fox on 4/20/01. Today it was announced that Artisan picked up the project from Fox in turnaround. An article in the L.A. times a while back addressed the issue of churches doing what they can to attract an audience. Don't know if that's how Edward and Rochelle Bates got their idea but newspapers are a great source for stories. Bryan Barber will make his directing debut.
